The primary goal of implementing Creative Curriculum at Silicon Drive Family Center is to provide each child a developmentally appropriate environment to learn. The curriculum provides a teaching tool to enhance teacher skills and knowledge and ultimately improve the program. It is our (owner, director, assistant director, and teachers) objective to provide a high quality early childhood education for your child.
At each level the curriculum offers an approach to blending the role of teacher with families to promote emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development. Creative Curriculum rests on a firm foundation of research and responds to new requirements for addressing academic content for preschoolers. In addition, the curriculum contains three interwoven elements: age appropriateness, individual appropriateness and cultural/social appropriateness. The curriculum is a critical component of learning, but it should be stressed that it is just one element.
Silicon Drive Family Center believes in the growth of the whole child and offers several extra curricular classes. These classes are offered at at additional charge per month. Spanish classes are offered once a week by Futura Language Professionals and tumbling is offered once a week by Tumblebus, the "Gym on Wheels." Starting Fall 2011, music and movement will be offered to all ages, infant thru preschool once a week.
